Friday USA Departure
Departure from the USA on
to Palermo.
Saturday Palermo
Upon
arrival in Palermo you will be met and transferred to the
Jolly Hotel. In the late afternoon, there will be a
welcome gathering followed by dinner at the hotel.
Palermo
After breakfast at the hotel, your tour begins with a visit to Palermo's
historical center. Continue to Monreale where you will see the Duomo and
Benedictine Cloister. You will return to Palermo for lunch at your
hotel. The rest of the afternoon is yours to enjoy at leisure. Dinner
and overnight in Palermo.
Monday Palermo
After breakfast at your hotel, your motorcoach will depart for Segesta
where you will visit the Doric Temple and Amphitheater. Continue
to Agrigento for lunch in a local restaurant overlooking the Valley of
the Temples. In the afternoon, there will be a visit to the Greek temples of
Juno, Hercules and Zeus. Return to Palermo for dinner and overnight.
Tuesday Palermo/Siracusa
After breakfast at your hotel, you will depart for Enna. Enjoy a
spectacular view of the African Sea and Mt. Etna (weather permitting).
Before continuing to Piazza Armerina where you will stop for lunch in a
local restaurant. While here you will also visit the Villa Romana
del Casale, world famous for its beautifully preserved mosaics. Then on
to Siracusa for dinner and overnight.
Wednesday Siracusa
After breakfast at your hotel, you will enjoy an archeological tour
including the Latomie of the Paradise and Dyonisios's "Ear," as
well as a walking tour of the island of Ortigia. Continue to Mt.
Etna where, weather permitting, you can book a tour (to be paid locally)
to the top of the smoldering volcano. A box lunch will be provided to
those wishing to take the climb. If you prefer not to take this tour, a
buffet lunch will be provided before the afternoon departure for
Messina. Upon arrival there will be a city tour before checking
into your hotel for dinner and overnight.

Thursday Siracusa/Messina
After breakfast, you will embark on a hydrofoil for Reggio Calabria
where you will visit the archeological museum housing the famous
Bronzes of Riaci. Return to Messina for lunch in a local restaurant
with a panoramic view of the Straight of Sicily. There will be an
afternoon departure for Taormina, a charming coastal resort town
boasting fabulous views of majestic Mt. Etna and the Ionian Sea. While
here you will see the famous Greek amphitheater, a wondrous ancient
masterpiece carved from a natural cavity on the hillside. There will
be leisure time for shopping or exploring more of Taormina on your own
before returning to Messina for dinner and overnight. Friday Messina/Palermo
After breakfast, your motorcoach will depart for Palermo. Along the way,
you will stop in Tindari where you can take in a breathtaking coastal
view. You will continue to Capo d'Orlando where there will be leisure
time for an optional swim and sunbathing. After lunch at a local
restaurant near the beach, you will proceed to Cefalu' for a visit of
the town and its cathedral. Arrival in Palermo for farewell dinner
followed by an optional "Palermo by Night" tour including
entertainment (to be booked and paid locally). Overnight in Palermo.
Saturday
Palermo/USA
Arrivederci! After breakfast at your hotel, a transfer will
be provided to Palermo Airport for your
connecting flight.
